Pick a coin that exists. Splice a gene under it: a new coin whose price is measured in that coin. Splice more under that. Every gene has its own curve, and one buy runs through all of them.

Pick a root
Any coin with a price: SOL, BTC, a leveraged or short token, a stock, gold, or a gene someone else launched.

Splice genes
Name each gene, pick how steep its curve is, and stack as many as the chain holds. Your wallet signs each launch.
- ETH→$A→$B3
Trade through the chain
One click buys the deepest coin by swapping down every curve on the way, and a sell swaps back up.
02Genes and chains
A gene is a coin launched here. It trades on its own bonding curve, priced in the coin above it: its host.
The host can be an existing coin, like SOL, BTC or a 3× Nasdaq token, or another gene. A chain is the line from an existing coin down through every gene under it. One chain holds up to 8 coins: the existing coin and 7 genes.
- Market
- An existing coin, trading on the open market. Solid, dim.
- Curve
- A gene launched here, on its curve. Its label shows its mutation and how close it is to graduating.
- New
- A gene you're planning. It stays dashed until you splice it.
When your first gene sits under an existing coin, you can pick a base to show above that coin, like USDC above ETH. It's saved in your coin's metadata and is only for show: trades start at the existing coin.
03Mutations
A gene's mutation is how many times its price multiplies from launch to graduation, measured in its host. A steeper one starts cheaper and moves more for each host coin that goes in.
Every gene has 1,000,000,000 coins with 6 decimals. Its curve sells a share of them before graduation, and the rest seeds the pool the coin graduates into. The steeper the mutation, the more the curve sells.
04Stacking
Genes under genes multiply. Each coin is priced in its host, so its price in the chain's first coin is its own price times the price of every host above it.
It works the other way too: when a coin above yours falls, yours falls with it, by the same multiple.
05Splicing a gene
Four taps from an idea to a coin on-chain.
- Search coins or paste a mint…ETHpickedTQQQxSOL1
Pick the coin to splice under
Tap the last coin on the helix and choose another, tap a root in the band under the helix, or hit Chain under on any coin in the feed. The picker searches the listed roots and takes a pasted mint address.
- ETH$NEW+ Add2
Add a gene
Give it a ticker: up to 10 capital letters or digits. The name is optional, up to 32 bytes, and defaults to the ticker. Upload an image or keep the tile drawn from the ticker.
- 4×16×100×1000×Initial buy0.5 ETH3
Set its mutation and the first buy
Pick how steep the curve is. Optionally buy some of the gene in the same transaction that launches it, before anyone else can; it has to be less than the curve raises. Add more genes to stack them, up to the chain's 8 coins. With a stack, the buy runs down through every gene: each one spends everything the one above it bought, so you end up holding the gene at the bottom.

Splice
Each gene is its own launch, and your wallet signs them one at a time, starting with the gene nearest the root. If one fails, the genes before it stay launched.
A gene is fixed once it launches: its token has no mint authority and no freeze authority, so no one can make more of it or freeze it, and its name, ticker and metadata can't be changed.
06Buying and selling
A buy starts from the chain's first coin and runs down every curve to the coin you're buying. A sell runs back up and pays out in the first coin.
- SOL→$Aon $A's curve
- $A→$Bon $B's curve
- $B→$Con $C's curve · $C lands in your wallet
- $C→$Bon $C's curve
- $B→$Aon $B's curve
- $A→SOLon $A's curve · SOL lands in your wallet
You pay in the chain's first coin; if you don't hold it, the trade panel links to Jupiter to get it. The swaps are packed into as few transactions as fit. Your wallet signs them all at once when it can, and each one is sent after the one before it confirms.
Each swap spends exactly the previous swap's minimum output. Whatever comes back above that minimum stays in your wallet as change of the coin in between.
1% unless you pick another, applied to each swap on the way.
A buy bigger than what a curve has left before graduation fills what's left, and the rest stays with you.
Trading through a graduated coin isn't supported yet. Existing coins trade on Jupiter, not here.
07Graduation
A gene graduates when its curve has raised its target, paid in its host. Then the curve closes and a pool opens.
- Under an existing coin: about 85 SOL worth of that coin, but never more than 20% of its supply.
- Under a gene: everything that gene's curve sells. No more of the host exists until it graduates, so no gene can graduate before the one above it.
08Fees
Every trade on a gene's curve pays a 1% fee, taken in its host coin.
Meteora's program keeps 20% of that fee. The rest, 0.8% of every trade, belongs to the wallet that launched the gene. It builds up in the gene's pool; claiming it from MUTATE isn't built yet.
MUTATE adds no fee of its own to launches or trades. You pay Solana's network fees and the rent for a launch's new accounts, and on mainnet, launches and trades add a priority fee so they land.
09Roots
A root is the existing coin at the top of a chain. Any SPL token with a price can be one.
A Token-2022 coin can too if it charges no transfer fee, calls no transfer hook, doesn't start new accounts frozen or have transfers paused, and has a Meteora token badge for any extension beyond on-mint metadata. MUTATE needs a price for it to size the curve.
The picker lists these 130 on mainnet and takes a pasted mint address for any other coin.

10Risks
- Coins here are experimental.
They can go to zero, and nothing here is financial advice.
- Your coin moves with every coin above it.
Its price is its host's price times its own, so when a coin above yours falls, yours falls with it.
- Tracker tokens follow their issuers' rules.
The leveraged, short, stock, ETF, gold, FX and yield roots are issued by third parties: Hylo, xStocks, Ondo, Shift, Backpack, Tether, Dominion, VNX, Circle, Jupiter, Solstice.
- Some roots let their issuer step in.
An issuer may be able to freeze accounts, pause transfers, or move or burn anyone's tokens. When the coin you splice onto can, the gene's editor says so before you launch.
- Mainnet is real money.
Every launch and trade there spends real SOL. Your wallet signs every transaction, and MUTATE never holds your keys.
11Networks
This site is running on mainnet.
- localnet
A local validator with the mainnet roots cloned onto it.
- devnet
Solana's public test network, with SOL and a devnet USDC as roots.
- mainnethere
Real coins and real money.
On localnet and devnet, the splice card has a button that airdrops 2 test SOL.
